Kenyan fashion designer and fashionpreneur Ann Wambui has been in the frontline creating the best crotchet tops, skirts and other crochet fashion accessories in Nairobi Kenya. We had the opportunity to know more about her and her budding fashion business on the brief interview below;
- What is the name of your crochet design business?
1. The name of my business is Black Fetish
- When did you start the business?
2. I started the business back in 2019.
- What challenge and opportunities have you encountered?
3. The biggest challenge is finding customers. Another challenge is getting people to pay what something is actually worth. For some reason people think that you just wake up and create a design or an outfit, sometimes a design can take you up to 30hours to complete.
This makes me think that very few people actually understand and appreciate creativity and art
4. How do you market your crochet designs?
4. I market my designs through paid ads on Facebook and Instagram. I also use TikTok to advertise my designs. We also do giveaways as a way of promoting our products.
5. What makes your designs stand out from the rest?
5. I always try to be a little bit more creative and always aim to have unique design.
6. How or where can people buy your outfits and designs?
6. Black Fetish is an Online platform, though we are working on having a physical shop.
